Asmara International Community School (AICS), Eritrea

Board of Governance

Chairman's Message:

Ever since my family and I moved to the beautiful city of Asmara in the horn of East Africa, we have been really impressed by the culture, climate and people of Eritrea. One of the highlights of our time here has been our association with Asmara International Community School (AICS).

Since its establishment in 1994, the school has really been a hub for International/Eritrean families. Over the years the school has delivered upon its commitment to offer an exceptional international education to its students while also giving families a warm, welcoming environment.

Over the past year the school has seen some amazing upgrades that have seen massive improvements in the school’s academic program and its general infrastructure. Major constructions have taken place, along with substantial upgrades in technology and our science program.

Only last year, the school once more was fully accredited with Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) through to 2025. As a candidate school for the IB Diploma Program, we have shown total commitment towards meeting the standards required to become an IB World School, and we are confident that our authorization will be forth-coming in the first quarter of 2019.

While I am currently the Chairman of AICS, like all parents at the school, I am extremely proud to have my children studying at this fine institute and I would encourage all families moving to Eritrea to join our community and become part of our growing family.
